What is biogas and how is it different from biomethane?
Biogas is a gas produced through the anaerobic decomposition of organic waste (such as manure, silage, food scraps, etc.).
Biomethane is purified biogas with a methane content of over 96%, meeting natural gas standards and suitable for injection into the gas grid or export.
What is biogas cogeneration and what benefits does it offer to agricultural companies?
Cogeneration is the simultaneous production of electricity and heat from biogas.
For an agricultural company, this means lower energy costs, the ability to use heat for internal needs (such as drying, heating, or fermentation), and a stable income from selling electricity to the grid.
What feedstock is used for biogas production?
Main types of feedstock:● Cattle and pig manure● Maize silage and green manure (cover crops)● Residues from sugar, alcohol, and oil processing plants● Food and plant waste● Poultry litter● Straw, beet pulp, husksThe more stable the feedstock, the higher the gas yield and the better the project's economic performance.

Yes. Ukraine is already exporting biomethane to the EU through the Guarantee of Origin (GoO) mechanism and technical connection to the European gas network.
